EMS Simulation TrainingWith the support of the Southwestern Regional EMS Council, we have been able to schedule a series of Simulation Training events taught by Jerry Cummins. The first session was held last night, and the instructors gained a lot of knowledge on the use of the high-fidelity manikin at STHCS. We are looking forward to more of these sessions in the future.
Opioid Settlement FundsSTHCS held a meeting on Monday to discuss how to use the opioid settlement funding that Cattaraugus County will receive. Mary O'Leary from Cattaraugus County Community Services is leading the planning process, which involves input from many community partners. The opioid crisis has caused great harm, so using the funding wisely is essential. We've contributed our ideas for funding and anticipate further progress on this issue. Happy EMS WeekThis week, we celebrated EMS week, and I want to express my immense gratitude to EMS for their dedication and exceptional service to our community. I appreciate that they risk their well-being to assist others, and their sacrifices do not go unnoticed. Their unwavering commitment is a testament to their exceptional character. EMS providers are heroes who provide hope, reassurance, and a lifeline for those in distress. To all EMS providers, thank you for your service, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to the well-being of others.
