Certified Lab Instructor CourseThis week we held a CLI Course at our Olean Training Center, which was a collaborative effort with Jefferson County EMS and the Midstate Program Agency. The course was attended by many students from different locations, and we were pleased to have Regional Faculty from various parts of the state give presentations. With this successful partnership, we look forward to having these students complete their internships and become Certified Lab Instructors, adding more value to the EMS system. Special thanks to Mickey Forness and Todd Reisner for leading the course at our center. Step Into Healthcare – Cattaraugus County Career AcademyThis week, the 7-month Step Into Healthcare – Cattaraugus County Career Academy (CCCA) which was supported by Southern Tier West came to an end. The CCCA was a unique program that aimed to familiarize young people with one of the four different career paths: Advanced Manufacturing, Business & Entrepreneurship, Health Care & Medical Wellness, and Land Use & Agricultural Resource Management. In line with our "Step Into Healthcare" initiative, we offered the students opportunities to explore Health Care & Medical Wellness career opportunities.

I would like to also thank Dr. Palmer and Southern Tier West and we look forward to future programming to expose students to opportunities in healthcare careers! SDOH at St. BonaventureI had the privilege of attending a conference at St. Bonaventure last week with Jordan, Sydney, and Alicia. It was an eye-opening experience as we focused on the importance of Social Determinants of Health. In addition, Jordan and I had the opportunity to lead a workshop on the opioid crisis in our region and teach attendees how to use Narcan. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Scott Medler, PA, for inviting us to participate in this event. It was an honor to share more information about our STOPP program with others passionate about improving health outcomes. YMCA Healthy Kids DaysWe are truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Healthy Kids Day events organized by the Olean YMCA and the Wellsville YMCA. It was a remarkable occasion to raise awareness about our programs, such as Safe Kids Southern Tier New York and the health insurance navigation program. We express our heartfelt appreciation to the YMCA for the invitation and look forward to more inspiring events in the future.
