Expanding Distance Learning Network with USDA Southern Tier Health Care System recently received approval for a funding boost to expand our distance learning network. This positive development follows past USDA Rural Development Distance Learning and Telemedicine grant program investments. The plan now involves adding two new user locations at Homecare & Hospice and Total Senior Care. Additionally, we're acquiring equipment for non-fixed user sites. This equipment can be used at any spot with a good internet connection. The USDA supports us with a generous grant of $120,348, marking the sixth round of support for our expanding network. We are thankful to the USDA for their ongoing support and will continue to work on expanding our network. Cattaraugus Gives: A Big Thank You from STHCS! I'm thrilled to share some exciting news from Tuesday's Cattaraugus Gives event. Our participation was a big success, thanks to the amazing support we received. A total of $970 came in from 48 different donors, and we even snagged the Backyard Bargain Hour prize, worth $500, for getting the most donations between 3 and 4 p.m. A special shoutout to Worth W. Smith for sponsoring this prize and helping us reach $1,470.
I want to thank everyone who contributed. Your generosity made a significant impact. And, of course, a big thank you to the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation for their continued support, making Giving Tuesday another success for us. Paramedic Program Phase 3Many Paramedic Program students have met the requirements to move into the third and final phase of their clinical training. In this phase, they'll be actively involved for 200 hours towards their Capstone. Each student will take on the role of Team Leader in at least 60 emergency calls during this phase. It's a crucial stage where they fine-tune their skills and collaborate closely with their preceptors to get ready for their careers as certified paramedics. A big congratulations to all the students for their dedication and hard work! Join us for Cattaraugus Gives Day on November 28th!I hope your Thanksgiving was fantastic, filled with joy and spent with loved ones. As we dive into the season of giving, STHCS would like to extend an invitation for you to join us on Cattaraugus Gives Day this Giving Tuesday. Your generous contributions will play a vital role in helping us achieve our goal of enhancing the health and wellness of our rural community.
We're aiming to win the "Backyard Bargain Hour," sponsored by Worth W. Smith, which rewards the organization with the most donations between 3 and 4 p.m. with an additional $500. Your support during this time frame would be particularly impactful. To make your donation, please visit our donation page this coming Tuesday. We truly appreciate your support! |
