Honoring National Rural Health Day and National Injury Prevention DayIn celebration of National Rural Health Day on November 16, we acknowledge our vital role as a Rural Health Network, dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of our rural community. For over 29 years, STHCS has been committed to making a meaningful impact in our communities, collaborating with healthcare providers, State Offices of Rural Health, and other stakeholders. As we reflect on this commitment, let's also turn our attention to National Injury Prevention Day on November 18. The Injury Free Coalition for Kids and its partners are devoted to reducing injuries and violence, which are the leading causes of hospitalization for individuals aged 1 to 44. Our Safe Kids Coalition has distributed green wristbands within the community, and our STHCS office has been "shining a green light" to raise awareness. Together, let's make a difference by supporting initiatives that promote health, safety, and well-being in our community. 2024 Open Enrollment and Renewal SeasonOur navigators are currently in the midst of the open enrollment period for health insurance coverage commencing on January 1, 2024. It is imperative for consumers to take action and enroll or renew a Qualified Health Plan by December 15, 2023.
All Qualified Health Plans encompass coverage for pre-existing conditions and incorporate preventive care benefits, including routine doctor visits and screenings, without incurring additional charges. Presently, 12 insurers are offering these plans, and our dedicated team members, Toni and Bethany, are available to provide assistance to anyone in search of health insurance. Should you be aware of individuals requiring coverage, kindly direct them to Toni or Bethany at our office at 716-372-0614. 2023 Enterprising Business Award
STWHWP Fall ConveningAlicia and I had the opportunity to attend the Fall Convening meeting of the Southern Tier West Health Workforce Partnership earlier this week. This partnership was created for a HRSA award, with Jamestown Community College, The Chautauqua Center, Universal Primary Care, The Resource Center, Chautauqua Integrated Delivery System IPA, and the Chautauqua Health Network working together to tackle health workforce shortages in the Southern Tier. During the meeting, we shared updates on the Cattaraugus and Allegany counties' Speed Networking events for care coordinators and discussed our Step Into Healthcare academy. Collaborating with such dedicated partners was great; we look forward to continuing our work together.
