Planning for Community ParamedicineI am excited to share with you that STHCS has been awarded a planning grant from the NY Health Foundation’s Special Projects Fund. This grant is designated to facilitate the planning phase for a community paramedicine program within our region. The objective of this funding is to strategize the establishment of a program aimed at delivering at-home health services and fostering coordination with local healthcare providers. We extend our sincere gratitude to the foundation for their invaluable support in this endeavor. Infant Safe Sleep 5K Run & WalkEvery year, about 3,500 babies tragically die due to unsafe sleeping conditions. Southern Tier Health Care System, Inc. is taking action by organizing an Infant Safe Sleep 5K Run & Walk on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at St. Bonaventure University. This event aims to spread awareness about safe sleeping practices for infants, ensuring they all have a secure sleeping environment. We're looking for sponsors to support this important cause. If you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring, please reach out to Sydney at [email protected].
Every Child Properly Secured in Car SeatsI'm thrilled to announce some exciting developments! Our Safe Kids Southern Tier New York program has been selected to participate in the State Farm - Good Neighbor Car Seat Program. Additionally, we've secured funding through the Safe Kids Buckle Up: Booster Seat grant. This week, in collaboration with Ardent Solutions, we organized a child passenger safety class for members of our community. The session covered essential topics such as proper car seat installation and usage to ensure children's safety during travel. A big thank you to Becky from Ardent Solutions and our Safe Kids Coalition coordinator, Sydney, for making this valuable learning opportunity available to our community! With the support of this grant funding, we aim to ensure that every child in our region is properly restrained in a car seat.
