Cattaraugus County Overdoses
Spring AheadAs we get ready for Daylight-Saving Time starting this weekend on March 10th, let us not forget the importance of checking our smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. We want to remind everyone how crucial this simple step can be in saving lives during an emergency. It is vital to regularly test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to keep your family safe. Take advantage of the time change and make sure your alarms are working correctly and that your family is prepared for any fire-related emergencies.
Yellow DotToni proposed that we team up with the NYS Sheriffs’ Association to spread the word about the Yellow Dot program in our area. Yellow Dot is a free program aimed at aiding first responders in giving urgent medical care during the critical "golden hour" after an accident or emergency. Placing a Yellow Dot sticker in the rear window of your car's driver's side signals to first responders that important medical details are stored in the glove compartment. I want to thank Toni for introducing us to this program and am excited to see Yellow Dots on cars around our community. Click here to request a free Yellow Dot kit for your vehicles. Summer of 24 EMT-B AcademyWe're gearing up for the 5th round of the Southern Tier EMT-B Academy, made possible by The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. We're thrilled to bring this opportunity to folks this summer in Olean. This time around, we're targeting students aged 17-21. If you know anyone who might want to join this program, please encourage them complete the interest form on our website.
