Caregiver Navigation![]() Bethany, our Caregiver Navigator, has been busy assisting caregivers throughout our 3-county catchment. Many caregivers need help finding services such as transportation to medical appointments, medical equipment loans, and home health care. Having a Caregiver Navigator has streamlined this process, and Bethany has been able to give specific referrals based on need, eligibility, and availability. With our increased marketing efforts and partnerships with community support systems such as Meals on Wheels, we expect an increase in caregivers reaching out to us in the coming months. We are currently seeking funding sources that will allow us to continue our Caregiver Navigation program. If you are aware of any funding sources that may be worth looking at, please feel free to share them with me. Donor's comfort is vital in getting donors to come back![]() We continue to host bi-monthly ConnectLife blood drives at our training center on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Unfortunately, the chairs that ConnectLife was able to bring had a weight limit and were not very comfortable. This Wednesday, we acquired three new chairs. Funding from the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation's Community Fund purchased one chair, funds raised by STHCS during Cattaraugus Gives purchased the second chair, and ConnectLife contributed funds for the third chair. Thank you to all who contributed to making this purchase possible! When donating blood, the donor should be comfortable and not be concerned that they will be unable to donate due to the weight limits of our donation chairs. Donor's comfort is vital in getting donors to come back and donate again. Our goal at STHCS is to continue to build a base of donors who give regularly. Update Link EMS Skills ![]() Over the last couple of weeks, Alicia and Micheyla have been working diligently with our EMS providers to complete the requirement for annual didactic and clinical skills credentialing to demonstrate competence with a WREMAC-approved preceptor. This requirement ensures that EMS providers maintain skills to provide care in emergencies safely. I am happy to report 100% compliance by agencies in Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua Counties by the June 30 deadline. I want to thank all of the agencies for working with us to compile and submit all of the required paperwork and for all of the work they do to ensure high-quality prehospital care is provided in the community. Independence Day ![]() Our offices will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. I hope everyone has a happy holiday weekend and gets to spend time with your families and loved ones. I’d ask that you please take a moment and reflect on the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform, many of whom will be celebrating the 4th far from home in order to protect us and our independence. Have a safe holiday weekend! Update Link |
