EMT-B AcademyToday marks the end of the 5-week Southern Tier EMT-B Academy, with the students completing the Practical Skills Exam. We had 12 individuals in this course supported by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. This was the fourth EMT-B Academy that we have held with the support of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation! We look forward to the students completing the NYS Certification Exam in the next few weeks and starting to serve the community as EMTs. Allegany County Networking EventA couple of weeks ago, I shared with you about STHCS arranging a Speed Networking Event for care coordinators located in Cattaraugus County. The purpose of this event was to unite individuals who are dedicated to improving healthcare within our community.
I am delighted to announce that we have another networking event scheduled for August 31 at the Wellsville Country Club, this time with a spotlight on Allegany County. As space is limited, it's important to secure your spot by registering if you're interested in participating! FeedMore WNY Community Ambassador CouncilOn Tuesday, as the Co-Chair of the FeedMore WNY Community Ambassador Council (CAC), I had the honor of participating in the New Member Orientation at the FeedMore headquarters. I'm excited to inform you that Tim Waterman, a Seneca Nation Councilor from Allegany territory, has become a part of our FeedMore CAC team. Having additional members representing the Southern Tier join us is vital as it brings different viewpoints to CAC. Safe KidsLast week, our Safe Kids Coordinator, Sydney, attended PrevCon, which is Safe Kids Worldwide Child Injury Prevention Convention in Washington DC. PrevCon is one of the largest gatherings of safety professionals in the world dedicated solely to the field of childhood injury prevention. Sydney had the opportunity to network with many other coordinators from across the world and brought back numerous ideas to implement within our coalition.
Additionally, this week, our Safe Kids coalition held their quarterly meeting. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who was able to attend. If you know anyone who would like to join our efforts in child injury prevention and become a part of the coalition, please have them contact Sydney at [email protected]. |
