State EMS CouncilThis week, I, along with several colleagues from our region, participated in the NYS EMS Council in Troy, NY. As a member of the finance subcommittee, we have been tasked with preparing budget proposals for the fiscal year 2025-26. Throughout the coming months, the subcommittee will collaborate on these proposals, with our final recommendations set to be presented in September. I am eager to work with the team to offer suggestions that will enhance our EMS system. Telehealth Room at Interfaith CaregiversIn collaboration with CASA-Trinity, STHCS has expanded healthcare accessibility in the area with the addition of a telehealth room at Interfaith Caregivers’ Medical Equipment Loan Center. The telehealth rooms offer a private and discreet space equipped with the necessary technology for telehealth sessions, providing a practical alternative for local residents seeking healthcare services. The existing telehealth room locations include Healthy Community Alliance of Gowanda, Randolph Free Library, Wide Awake Club Library of Fillmore, Whitesville Public Library, Friendship Free Library and Universal Primary Care of Olean and we are happy to see this further expansion.
Community Services BoardI wanted to share that I have been appointed as the Vice-Chairwoman of the Cattaraugus County Community Services Board (CSB). The CSB holds a critical role in our community, focusing on the development and approval of local service plans for mental hygiene services. Additionally, it serves as a staunch advocate for essential services in Cattaraugus County. I am excited about the opportunity to continue to contribute to the CSB's mission in a leadership role and further support mental health initiatives in our community. Step Into HealthcareOur Step Into Healthcare Career Academy has just launched its third cohort this week. Over the next few weeks, Jordan will be closely working with our students, providing them the opportunity to explore various healthcare careers and understand the diverse paths available in the healthcare field.
I'm genuinely excited for each student as they embark on this journey to discover the array of healthcare career options. A big thanks to Jordan for leading the program and guiding our students through this fantastic experience. I believe this initiative will play a crucial role in helping our aspiring healthcare professionals not only succeed but also grow in their chosen paths. |
